In a commendable move towards fostering environmental sustainability, Honorable Diana Mutasingwa was recently invited by My Tree Initiative (MTI) to participate in the MTI School Greening Program 2024. This initiative, held at Mother Kevin Secondary School in Mabira-Najjembe, Buikwe District, emphasizes the importance of tree planting as a vital step towards creating greener, healthier communities.
The MTI School Greening Program is dedicated to transforming school environments through the strategic planting of trees, aiming to instill a sense of environmental stewardship among students and the wider community. Hon. Diana Mutasingwa’s involvement in this program highlights her ongoing commitment to environmental conservation and community development.
During the tree planting event, Hon. Mutasingwa underscored the significance of engaging young people in environmental activities. “Planting trees is more than an act of conservation; it is an investment in our future. By involving students in this program, we are nurturing a generation that understands the value of our natural resources and is committed to preserving them,” she remarked.
The initiative saw enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and community members, who together planted hundreds of trees on the school grounds.
