Buikwe District, Uganda — July 25, 2025
In a landmark effort to uplift education standards across Buikwe District, Hon. Diana Mutasingwa, State Minister in the Office of the Vice President and Woman MP for Buikwe, commissioned a series of newly constructed and renovated school facilities on July 25, bringing renewed hope to learners and educators alike.
📍 Transforming Learning Spaces Across Buikwe
The commissioning ceremony spanned multiple schools, including:
- Nyemerwa Primary School in Ngogwe Subcounty
- Luwombo Primary School in Buikwe Subcounty
- Buikwe Church of Uganda Primary School in Buikwe Town Council
- Nkompe Primary School in Najja Subcounty
Each of these institutions received either new classroom blocks or renovated facilities, along with staff housing, aimed at improving both the learning and teaching environment.
“These projects are a major boost to the learning environment in our communities,” Hon. Mutasingwa remarked during the event.
The upgrades are expected to reduce overcrowding, enhance academic performance, and motivate teachers through better living conditions.
🎓 A Call for Community Involvement
While celebrating the government’s investment in education, Hon. Mutasingwa emphasized the importance of community participation in sustaining these gains.
“We thank the Government of Uganda for this investment, and call on parents and local leaders to continue playing an active role in supporting the education system in Buikwe.”
Her message was clear: infrastructure alone isn’t enough—active engagement from families and local leadership is essential to ensure long-term success.
