Hon. Diana Mutasingwa’s Visit to Zzitwe Parish: A Step Towards Empowering Communities

Hon. Diana Mutasingwa recently had the pleasure of visiting and interacting with the vibrant residents of Zzitwe Parish, located in Ssi-Bukunja Sub County, Buikwe South. This visit was part of her ongoing monitoring activities for the Parish Development Model (PDM), a key government initiative aimed at empowering communities through grassroots planning and poverty eradication at the Parish level.

During her visit, Hon. Mutasingwa was able to witness firsthand the tangible benefits brought about by the PDM. The Parish was the proud recipient of a 100-seater tent and over 100 chairs, which will be used to support various community gatherings and activities across its nine villages. This generous provision is expected to foster a stronger sense of community and facilitate important discussions and events that drive local development.

Hon. Mutasingwa expressed her pleasure in witnessing the enthusiasm and commitment of the residents of Zzitwe Parish. She is optimistic about the future of the PDM and looks forward to extending this initiative to other Parishes, thereby boosting community development throughout the region.

UEGCL Enhances Community Capacity in Buikwe District

In a commendable gesture of corporate social responsibility, the Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) has once again demonstrated its commitment to the communities in which it operates. Yesterday, Honorable Minister Diana Mutasingwa received a significant donation from UEGCL on behalf of the people of Buikwe District.

The donation, valued at 40 million Uganda Shillings, comprised seven 100-seater tents and 974 plastic chairs. This initiative is part of UEGCL’s ongoing CSR activities aimed at uplifting the communities surrounding the Nalubale Power Station.

These tents and chairs will have a transformative impact on the district. They will provide the much-needed infrastructure to host large community events and government programs in a comfortable and organized manner. The capacity to gather in well-arranged, spacious settings will undoubtedly foster a stronger sense of community and facilitate the efficient execution of various programs.
