Successful Medical Outreach at Tongolo Health Centre II
On January 15, 2025, the Diana Ka Foundation organized a significant medical outreach event at Tongolo Health Centre II, located in Tongolo Parish/Ward, Nyenga Division, Njeru Municipality. This initiative aimed to provide essential healthcare services and raise awareness about critical health issues within the community.
The event was scheduled to take place on Wednesday and brought together residents from various parts of the area, all eager to receive much-needed medical attention. The outreach was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Hon. Minister Diana Mutasingwa, whose support underscored the importance of such initiatives in promoting public health.
Comprehensive Healthcare Services Offered
During the outreach, a wide range of healthcare services were provided to cater to the diverse needs of the community. These services included:
Family Planning: Offering various methods, excluding permanent methods, to help families make informed reproductive choices.
Reproductive Health Education and Counseling: Addressing issues such as infertility and providing vital information to support reproductive well-being.
Sexual Health Education and Testing: Focusing on sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and urinary tract infections (UTIs), including education, testing, and counseling.
HIV Education, Testing, and Counseling: Providing education, testing, and linking those who tested positive to appropriate care and support services.
Breast Examination/Breast Cancer Screening: Offering examinations and screenings to detect early signs of breast cancer.
Cervical Cancer Screening: Conducting screenings to identify and address cervical cancer at an early stage.
Cancer Education: Educating the community on the early detection of various types of cancer.
Ultra Sound Scans for Pregnant Mothers: Providing scans to ensure the health and well-being of both expectant mothers and their babies.
Dental Services: Offering dental check-ups and treatments.
Prostate Cancer Screening for Men: Conducting screenings to detect prostate cancer early.
Nutrition Sessions: Especially targeting pregnant women and mothers, to promote healthy nutritional practices.
