In a commendable gesture of corporate social responsibility, the Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) has once again demonstrated its commitment to the communities in which it operates. Yesterday, Honorable Minister Diana Mutasingwa received a significant donation from UEGCL on behalf of the people of Buikwe District.
The donation, valued at 40 million Uganda Shillings, comprised seven 100-seater tents and 974 plastic chairs. This initiative is part of UEGCL’s ongoing CSR activities aimed at uplifting the communities surrounding the Nalubale Power Station.
These tents and chairs will have a transformative impact on the district. They will provide the much-needed infrastructure to host large community events and government programs in a comfortable and organized manner. The capacity to gather in well-arranged, spacious settings will undoubtedly foster a stronger sense of community and facilitate the efficient execution of various programs.
UEGCL’s contribution highlights the importance of collaboration between corporate entities and local communities. By investing in the social fabric of Buikwe District, UEGCL not only enhances its operational environment but also builds lasting relationships with the residents.
As the district continues to grow and develop, such partnerships will be crucial in ensuring sustainable progress and a better quality of life for all. The residents of Buikwe can look forward to more organized and enjoyable events, thanks to the generosity of UEGCL.
Stay tuned for more updates on how corporate initiatives like these are making a difference in our communities.
