Empowering Vulnerable Women: Turkey Embassy Donates to Buikwe Touch Rehabilitation Center
December 3, 2024, marked a significant milestone for the Buikwe Touch Rehabilitation Center. The Turkey Embassy in Uganda, through its development agency TIKA, donated skilling materials and equipment to support vulnerable and at-risk women undergoing rehabilitation and resettlement.
The donation, officially handed over by Murat ÇETİN, TIKA Country Director, to Hon. Diana, aims to empower these women with essential skills to improve their livelihoods. The ceremony was attended by local and Buikwe political leaders, including the RDC and Njeru Municipality speaker.
But that’s not all – the Turkey Embassy also renovated the rehabilitation premises and built a play area for children whose mothers are being supported under the rehabilitation program. This generous donation and support will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the lives of these women and children.
The Buikwe Touch Rehabilitation Center plays a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for women to rebuild their lives. This donation is a testament to the Turkey Embassy’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities in Uganda.
We applaud the Turkey Embassy, TIKA, and Hon. Diana for their tireless efforts in making a difference in the lives of these women and children.
