🇺🇬 President Museveni Commends Buikwe’s Development Efforts During PDM Zonal Tour

Buikwe District, Uganda — In a landmark moment for the residents of Buikwe and the wider Greater Mukono region, His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni visited Kalagala in Ngogwe Subcounty as part of his ongoing Parish Development Model (PDM) Zonal Tour. The occasion was not only a celebration of grassroots progress but also a powerful call to action on the responsible use of government development programs.

The President was graciously received by Hon. Minister Diana Mutasingwa, who hosted him in her home district with warmth and commitment befitting the vision of inclusive transformation. As the State Minister in the Office of the Vice President and a proud daughter of Buikwe, her presence underscored the local leadership’s unwavering support for national development goals.

Addressing a large and energized crowd, President Museveni highlighted the essence of the PDM initiative—not merely as a disbursement of funds, but as a strategic lever for economic empowerment.

“The Parish Development Model is not a handout. It is an investment in our people—an opportunity to shift families from subsistence living into a modern money economy,” he emphasized. “Leaders and citizens alike must ensure these funds are put to productive use and fully accounted for.”

His message resonated deeply with attendees, many of whom turned up in impressive numbers to show solidarity and enthusiasm for the government’s drive to create sustainable wealth at the grassroots. The rally was more than a political gathering—it was a statement of shared responsibility and ambition.

District leaders expressed deep appreciation for the President’s vision and presence, noting that the event marked a renewed sense of unity across Buikwe and Greater Mukono.

“We thank His Excellency for reminding us that development starts at the community level. We also commend Hon. Diana Mutasingwa for championing this visit and for her tireless efforts in ensuring Buikwe remains central to Uganda’s progress,” a district spokesperson noted.

The event was punctuated by testimonies from local beneficiaries of the PDM program, cultural performances, and vibrant participation by youth and women’s groups—a testament to the inclusive spirit driving the initiative.

As the PDM Zonal Tour continues across the country, Buikwe’s rally stands out not only for its warmth and turnout but also as a shining example of what coordinated leadership and citizen engagement can achieve. It is a chapter of optimism in Uganda’s wider narrative of transformation—one parish at a time.
