A significant step was taken towards addressing the concerns of residents in Ngogwe Subcounty and Kiyindi Town Council in Buikwe South. Hon. Diana Mutasingwa visited two stone quarries in these areas to listen to and address the negative impacts that the quarries have had on the wellbeing of the community. The visit was a testament to the commitment to work with all relevant stakeholders to find sustainable solutions that prioritize and strike a balance between development and the wellbeing of the people. “We are committed to work with all relevant stakeholders to find sustainable solutions that prioritize and strike a balance between development and the wellbeing of our people,” she added. In a gesture that emphasized the commitment to community welfare, the communities also received chairs to support local activities and gatherings. “The communities also received chairs to re/emphasize our commitment to community welfare across Buikwe,” noted Mutasingwa. Mutasingwa’s visit and the provision of resources reflect a proactive and empathetic approach to addressing community concerns and ensuring that development efforts do not come at the expense of the residents’ wellbeing. The engagement with the affected communities and the commitment to finding balanced solutions highlight the importance of inclusive and sustainable development practices. As the stakeholders work together to find solutions, the efforts to address the concerns of the residents of Ngogwe Subcounty and Kiyindi Town Council will pave the way for more harmonious and sustainable development in the region.—I hope this helps!
